The 2011 Chevrolet Malibu is now exclusively offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This is the smaller of Chevy's two midsize sedans. Trim levels include LS, 1LT, 2LT, and LTZ. The standard powertrain for all models is a 169-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The LS' 4-speed automatic has been discontinued. Note that a version of the 4-cylinder engine that can run on E85 ethanol-blended fuel is available only to fleet buyers. Optional on the 2LT and LTZ is a 252-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 that also teams with a 6-speed automatic.
